Colors and Health
Certain colors may be prone to health issues if improperly paired.
Blue and Lilac/Isabella are dilute shades, with all dilute colors in breeds, there is a chance for color dilution alopecia - which can cause hair loss or a coarse coat. Thankfully, this can now be tested for to prevent this in puppies!

Chocolate/Liver, Merle, and Dilutes can also cause green/blue/yellow eyes which is not in the breed standard.

Merle is a dominant trait and when paired with another Merle or hidden Merle dog, can create deaf and blind puppies. It is a very tricky gene and a controversial one in Frenchies.

Black and Tan is simply discouraged because it is a very dominant color combination and can limit the gene pool. Similar to solid black without brindle.

Fluffy is considered crossbred in many cases and highly discouraged.

Monarch French Bulldogs believes that health testing is of upmost importance.
